When should a foreign company register for VAT in Finland for online sales?
Finland follows the rules for rest of the Europe in the requirements to register for Finnish VAT for online sales.
Online sales to non-VAT registered customers (typically consumers) in Finland. The threshold for registration is €35,000 per calendar year. If the sales to Finland exceed the threshold in a calendar year the foreign company must register for the Finnish VAT and pay the taxes to Finland.
After the registration the foreign company is required to submit a VAT tax notification each month.
